My approach
I have an integrative approach which means I use different theories unique to you. This includes Attachment Theory, Compassion Focused Therapy, Transactional Analysis and Solution Focused as well as having a creative approach.
Being trauma-informed and being aware of how the body can carry emotions we may practice breathwork, grounding techniques as well as mindfulness. Although I may use different approaches, person centred counselling is at the core of my practice. I also work collaboratively meaning that we will work together to enable you to work towards the best solutions that suit your needs.
Here is one of the counselling rooms I use. Based in Calverley, Leeds, the room is a calm, quiet space suitable for exploring the issues you may have.

Walks in nature
I offer walk and talk therapy, at different locations throughout Leeds.
This can feel more comfortable than in a traditional counselling setting.
After careful consideration, I plan the route to be in an open public place, in parks close to Leeds City Centre. Benches are on route if regularly breaks or rests in between walking are required. The routes are also planned to attempt to maintain confidentiality.
Should it rain, then we could have an online session or indoor session instead if that would be preferable.
Sessions are 50 minutes and £60.
So you may be wondering what are the benefits of Walk and Talk therapy?
Being outdoors during daylight can help regulate circadian rhythms, as access to light exposure, particularly first thing in the morning, can help regulate melatonin production which is a hormone crucial for healthy sleep-wake cycles.
Another benefit to walk and talk therapy is that by physically moving and being outside during the therapy session, you are actively engaging with the environment around you and by walking rhythmically you can also see the landscape unfold in front of you.
Walk and talk counselling can also help to be more aware with the impact that exercise and the elements have on your physical well being
If you’re wondering what counselling outdoors could do for your mind and mood, I’d be delighted to walk and talk with you.
